Mobile Co, AL (July 20, 2025) – A deadly bicycle crash took place on Saturday, July 19, leaving one man dead and another man in jail.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash happened around 10 a.m. along Beverly Road, close to Argyle Road, about nine miles west of Mobile.
Troopers said Jessie E. Forrest, a 70-year-old man from Irvington, was riding his bicycle when a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer hit him from behind. Forrest died at the scene due to his injuries.
Officials identified the driver of the SUV as 41-year-old Dwayne A. Mills from Mobile. After the crash, Mills left the scene without stopping to help.
ALEA Troopers, along with deputies from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, tracked down Mills and arrested him shortly after. Mills now faces charges of Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Manslaughter. He was taken to the Mobile County Jail, where he remains without bond.
