Huntsville, AL - Three Injured in Head-On Crash on Jordan Rd Alabama sees thousands of car crashes every year, many of which result in injuries or worse. In 2022 alone, the Alabama Department of Transportation reported over 31,000 injury-causing crashes statewide. Car accidents in Alabama can happen in both urban and rural areas, with intersections being especially common locations for serious incidents. These events often lead to major medical expenses, missed work, and long recovery periods for the victims involved.

Understanding what to expect after a crash can be overwhelming, especially when injuries are involved. Here are some common injuries victims may face:

  • Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs): These injuries are not always immediately apparent but can significantly impact memory, coordination, and concentration. TBIs often require ongoing medical care, and even mild cases can interfere with daily life. Victims should be thoroughly evaluated after an accident to rule out any head trauma.
  • Spinal Cord Injuries: Damage to the spinal cord can range from minor nerve irritation to paralysis. Even without visible injuries, back trauma must be taken seriously. Spinal injuries can involve extensive rehabilitation, surgeries, and long-term lifestyle changes.
  • Fractures and Broken Bones: Fractures are common in collisions, especially in high-impact crashes like head-on or T-bone accidents. While some breaks may heal with rest and casting, others can require surgery or physical therapy. They can also limit a person’s ability to work and drive.
  • Whiplash and Neck Strain: Sudden forceful impacts can cause whiplash, which may not show symptoms until hours or days after the accident. While it’s often treatable, the pain and stiffness can linger for weeks or even months.
  • Internal Injuries: Internal bleeding and organ damage can be life-threatening and often present no immediate symptoms. That’s why anyone involved in a serious crash should seek a full medical evaluation even if they feel fine initially.
