Falkville, AL – Man Killed After Mustang Strikes SUV Twice on AL 36

Apr 12, 2025 | Local Accidents

Falkville, AL (April 12, 2025) – An early morning crash on Thursday, April 10, in Morgan County ended in tragedy, claiming the life of a Falkville resident. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) confirmed that 56-year-old William E. Gosa was killed in the two-vehicle collision that took place around 4:25 a.m. on Alabama 36 near Upper River Road.

Authorities say Gosa was behind the wheel of a 2008 Ford Mustang when he initially collided with a 2016 BMW X3 driven by 60-year-old John P. Ross Jr., a Huntsville resident. Following the first impact, Gosa’s vehicle reportedly struck the BMW a second time before veering off the roadway and crashing into a nearby tree. Gosa was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash to determine the events that led up to the incident.

At least one other person was hurt in the crash and received treatment at the scene before being taken to a local medical facility for further evaluation. Emergency responders were present for several hours while the scene was cleared. No further details on Ross’s condition have been made public at this time.

We extend our sincere sympathies to the family of the deceased individual. We also hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.
