Autauga Co, AL (April 11, 2025) – A fatal car crash occurred on Thursday evening, April 10, in Autauga County, claiming the lives of two women. The tragic incident took place at approximately 7:41 p.m. on Alabama 14, about nine miles west of Prattville. According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the victims were identified as Carolyn C. Cason, 78, of Prattville, and Alyssa M. Taylor, 30, of Selma.

ALEA Lt. Jeremy Burkett reported that Cason was driving a Lincoln Aviator when she collided head-on with a Ford Fusion driven by Taylor. Following the collision, both vehicles left the roadway and became fully engulfed in flames. Emergency response teams, including local firefighters, rushed to the scene. The fire was quickly controlled, and the vehicles were safely extracted from the wreckage. Both Cason and Taylor were pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

Ambulances were on-site to assist with the immediate situation, though there were no other injuries reported. The crash area was temporarily closed while authorities managed traffic flow and the aftermath of the fire. The cause of the collision is still under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.
