Wilcox Co., AL (March 20, 2025) – A fatal car crash occurred early Thursday morning, claiming the life of a Camden man. The accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Alabama 265, approximately two miles south of Camden, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

Authorities report that Cody W. Couch, 33, was fatally injured when the car he was a passenger in left the roadway, overturned, and struck multiple trees. Couch, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency responders, including paramedics and firefighters, arrived promptly to secure the area and provide assistance. The driver and another passenger, both injured in the crash, were extricated from the vehicle by firefighters and transported to local hospitals for treatment. The driver was taken to John Paul Jones Hospital in Camden, while the second passenger was transported to USA Hospital in Mobile. Traffic was temporarily diverted as law enforcement managed the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by ALEA Troopers, who continue to gather details to determine the factors that led to the accident.
