The incident, reported by the Opelika Police Department, occurred at approximately 5:23 p.m. in the 3500 block of Marvyn Pkwy.

According to Opelika police officials, two cars – a Kia K5 and a GMC Acadia – were involved in the crash. The Kia, which contained two adults and two children, collided head-on with the GMC Acadia. Tragically, one of the children was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was airlifted to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham for immediate medical care.
