Dale Co, AL (January 19, 2025) – A fatal car crash occurred on January 17 in Dale County, claiming the life of one man. The accident, reported by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), happened at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Dale County 21 near Penny Point Rd, just outside of Ozark.
According to ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division, the crash involved two cars. Dennis P. Prescott, 62, of Ozark, was driving when his car collided head-on with a Chevrolet Traverse, which was being driven by Daniel R. McWhorter, 39, also of Ozark. Prescott was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency medical responders arrived shortly after the crash, and Prescott’s body was transported to a nearby hospital. McWhorter sustained injuries and was rushed by ambulance to the hospital for treatment. Authorities worked diligently to manage the situation, including controlling traffic and preventing further accidents. Firefighters were also on the scene, removing the cars from the wreckage.
