Fairhope, AL – Woman Killed Riding Scooter on US-98

Fairhope, AL (April 5, 2024) – On Wednesday, April 3, a woman was killed in a single-vehicle collision in the Fairhope area. The fatal accident was reported on US-98 near mile marker 62 in Baldwin County. Local reports revealed that the victim was riding a scooter when she was hit by an oncoming Chevrolet Suburban sport utility vehicle. 

Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. The injured party, later identified as 30-year-old Haygen Kristian Taylor Lightfoot, was transported to Sacred Heart in Pensacola, FL in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV, 81-year-old Charles Crocker, was not hurt in the accident. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities worked to clear the scene. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
