Hit-&-Run Crashes in Alabama
Any type of crash can be a traumatic event. However, when the at-fault party tries to flee the scene and escape responsibility, it can feel even more devastating. Unfortunately, the number of crashes involving drivers who flee the scene has increased significantly in recent years. Statistics show that the number of injury hit-and-runs in the United States increased by nearly 21.9 percent in a recent ten-year period, growing from 59,854 in 2012 to 194,918 in 2021. A total of 1,992,143 people were injured in these crashes during that time. The majority of fatal hit-and-runs involve pedestrians and cyclists, both of which are more likely to suffer fatal injuries in the event of an accident. However, when a driver flees the scene, these types of travelers are often unable to get the treatment they desperately need.
