Mobile, AL (January 3, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle collision claimed two lives and left two people injured on Friday, January 2, in Mobile. The crash occurred around 1:20 p.m. along Old Pascagoula Road, about three miles west of the Mobile city limits.
Officials said the vehicles collided head-on, killing both drivers instantly. Authorities identified the victims as 71-year-old Mary Vise of Citronelle and 51-year-old Clifford Stokes of Theodore.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families affected by this heartbreaking loss. Our hearts are also with the injured children, and we wish them a full and swift recovery.
Fatal Car Accidents in Alabama
Deadly crashes like the one on Old Pascagoula Road show how devastating head-on collisions can be across Alabama.
According to the Alabama Department of Transportation, hundreds of people die in car accidents each year across the state. Head-on collisions are especially dangerous because the combined force of both vehicles makes the impact severe. Even modern safety systems cannot always protect drivers and passengers in such violent crashes.
