At around 5:10 a.m. on June 10, 29-year-old Christian Faith Madison was struck by a vehicle on I-22. The incident occurred near Trafford, just north of Birmingham, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Emergency responders rushed to the scene. Sadly, Madison was pronounced dead at 5:31 a.m., just 21 minutes after the crash occurred.

Authorities say the driver involved stopped right away and called 911. The motorist is cooperating with investigators and shows no signs of being impaired. What led Madison to be on the interstate remains unknown. No car linked to her was found at the scene, and her family says they don’t know why she would have been walking along the highway at that hour.

Investigators are reviewing traffic cameras and data from nearby exits to understand what happened before the crash. No details have been confirmed yet.
