Apr 9, 2025 | Catastrophic Personal Injury, Local Accidents

Mobile, AL (April 9, 2024) – A fatal crash occurred on Sunday evening along I-10 in Mobile, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old local man. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) confirmed that the multi-vehicle collision took place at approximately 6:06 p.m.

According to ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division, Hayley Terry, 20, was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 when his vehicle was struck by a 2005 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by David Clark, 70. The initial impact caused Terry’s vehicle to collide with a second tractor-trailer, a 2018 Kenworth.

First responders from local fire and EMS units were quickly dispatched to the scene. Firefighters worked to safely extract the vehicles involved, while paramedics assessed the victims. Tragically, Terry was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. Authorities reported that Clark did not require medical transport.

Traffic in the area was temporarily halted as emergency crews worked to clear the wreckage and secure the scene. The crash remains under investigation by ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Hayley Terry during this incredibly difficult time. Losing a loved one so suddenly is a profound tragedy, and our thoughts are with all those affected by this heartbreaking loss.

Tractor-Trailer Crashes and Wrongful Death Claims in Mobile Mobile, AL – Fatal Crash on I-10 Claims Life of 20-Year-Old Driver

Crashes involving tractor-trailers are among the most dangerous incidents on Alabama’s roads. Due to their massive size and force, these vehicles often lead to severe injuries or fatalities. In Mobile, busy routes like I-10 see frequent heavy truck traffic, increasing the risk of multi-vehicle collisions. When smaller vehicles are involved, the consequences are often tragic, especially at highway speeds.

In cases where a fatal crash is caused by another driver’s negligence, the victim’s family may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim. Alabama law allows the personal representative of the deceased’s estate to pursue legal action, seeking compensation and accountability for the loss. These claims can help families find a sense of justice while addressing the financial impact of a sudden and unexpected death.
