Montgomery, AL (March 24, 2025) – A fatal multi-car crash occurred on Sunday evening, March 23, on Troy Highway in Montgomery, resulting in the death of a man. Authorities responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m. following reports of a serious collision involving three vehicles.
According to the Montgomery Police Department (MPD), the crash happened in the 4200 block of Troy Hwy and involved a 2022 Dodge Ram, a 2008 Ford F-450, and a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox. The driver of the Dodge Ram, identified as Derrel Brooks, 44, of Pike Road, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
Montgomery Fire Rescue personnel worked to extricate victims from the wreckage, while paramedics provided immediate medical assistance. Three additional individuals, including the drivers of the Ford and Chevrolet, as well as a passenger from the Chevrolet, were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. Authorities managed traffic control in the area while crews cleared the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by MPD.
