Forkland, AL (March 9, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on Thursday evening, March 6, took the life of a Forkland woman in Greene County.

The accident happened around 6:05 p.m. on U.S. 43, near the 143-mile marker, about a mile south of Forkland. According to officials, 33-year-old Breighana L. Evridge was driving a 2021 Honda CRV when her vehicle collided head-on with a 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer. Evridge, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from her vehicle. Emergency crews responded to the scene, but she was pronounced dead at the crash site. The driver of the Freightliner, identified as 52-year-old Tyrone C. McClendon of Forest, Mississippi, was also involved in the collision, though details about his condition have not been released. Authorities with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
