Baldwin Co, AL (February 7, 2025) – A car crash occurred on February 4 in Baldwin County, critically injuring a 47-year-old driver, Christopher Adams, and leaving an Elberta Police Department officer with minor injuries. The incident, reported by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), took place around 2:45 p.m. on Baldwin County 87, near the intersection of County Road 38.

According to ALEA officials, the crash occurred when Christopher Adams collided head-on with a police car driven by Officer Timothy Cooper. The collision caused significant damage to both cars. Adams was transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital with critical injuries, while Officer Cooper, suffering only minor injuries, was taken to South Baldwin Hospital in Foley.

The Baldwin County Fire Department was called to the scene for vehicle extrication, and law enforcement officials controlled the situation, including traffic, while emergency responders worked. The highway was temporarily closed to allow for emergency medical services to attend to the injured and to clear the wreckage.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic incident, especially Christopher Adams and his loved ones during this difficult time. We hope he recovers rapidly.
