Mobile, AL (January 17, 2025) – An injury car crash occurred early today on Columbia Highway, leaving one man injured. The incident, reported by the Mobile Police Department, took place at approximately 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Columbia Hwy and Springhill Ave.
According to the Mobile Police Department, a sedan traveling westbound failed to yield at the intersection, colliding with a pickup truck. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, and the truck overturned, blocking traffic in both directions. Emergency responders, including firefighters, quickly arrived at the scene to extricate the driver of the pickup truck.
The injured man, identified as Michael Davis, was transported by ambulance to Mobile Infirmary with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the sedan, whose identity is still under investigation, was uninjured and remained at the scene for questioning.
The Mobile Police Department controlled the situation, including traffic flow, as emergency crews worked to clear the wreckage. Traffic delays were reported throughout the morning as both lanes were partially blocked.
