Florence, AL (January 7, 2025) – An injury car crash occurred on Monday, January 6, involving an off-duty Florence Police Department (FPD) officer. The collision happened on Cloyd Boulevard near Mall Road at approximately 3:30 p.m., according to the Florence Police Department. Authorities identified one of the drivers as Florence Police Officer Danny Hines, who was off-duty and driving his car at the time.
Emergency responders, including paramedics and firefighters, quickly arrived on the scene to control traffic, assist the injured, and extract the cars from the crash site. Officer Hines and the other driver were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment.
