Mobile, AL (December 28, 2024) – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Christmas night on Mobile’s Dog River Bridge, involving a motorcyclist and a car. The incident, reported by the Mobile Police Department, took place around 8:10 p.m. when 37-year-old Michael S. Porter, riding his motorcycle in the southbound lane, crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a car driven by 51-year-old Angela Waltman.

The force of the collision caused Porter to suffer fatal injuries. Emergency medical teams arrived at the scene and pronounced him dead before transporting his body to a local hospital. Authorities promptly took control of the situation, closing off sections of the bridge to allow for investigation and to clear the wreckage. Firefighters assisted in extracting the vehicles from the scene.

Angela Waltman, the driver of the car, remained at the scene and was arrested on charges of driving under the influence (DUI). No other individuals were injured in the crash, and authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading to the collision.
