Mobile, AL (December 30, 2024) – A fatal pedestrian crash occurred on Sunday, resulting in the death of a woman from Ocoee, Florida. The incident, confirmed by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), occurred around 5:39 p.m. on Three Notch Kroner Rd, near Hillcrest Rd, just outside the Mobile city limits.
According to ALEA, the pedestrian, Cynthia M. Lee, 49, was struck by a 2021 Ford F-250 driven by 53-year-old Rayford Hinton III of Mobile. Lee, who was in the roadway at the time, sustained critical injuries and was quickly transported by ambulance to USA Providence Hospital in Mobile. Unfortunately, she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Responding emergency personnel from the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department assisted in managing the scene, including traffic control and extricating the vehicles involved. The area was temporarily shut down while authorities investigated the incident and cleared the wreckage.
Troopers from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. No additional details have been released at this time.
