According to ALEA, 33-year-old Brenda A. Rivera was driving a car that collided head-on with a box truck. The impact was severe, and Rivera was immediately taken to Huntsville Hospital. Despite efforts to save her, Rivera was pronounced dead during transportation to the hospital.

The 53-year-old driver of the box truck, Dionne E. Bishop, was also injured in the crash. She was transported to Huntsville Hospital for medical treatment.
