Birmingham has seen a troubling rise in fatal car accidents in recent years, reflecting a broader trend across Alabama. In 2022, Alabama reported over 1,100 traffic fatalities, with many occurring in urban areas like Birmingham. High-risk factors contributing to these accidents include distracted driving, speeding, and driving under the influence. A wrongful death claim arises when a person’s death is caused by another’s negligence or intentional act, often seen in cases of fatal car accidents. Families may seek compensation for various damages, including medical expenses, funeral costs, loss of companionship, and emotional suffering. Consulting with a qualified attorney can help families navigate the complexities of these claims and ensure their rights are protected during such difficult times.
