Elrod, AL – ATV Rider Killed in Crash with Ford at Elrod Rd & CR 140

Elrod, AL (April 2, 2024) – A man riding an all-terrain vehicle was killed after a crash in the Elrod area on Friday, March 29. The deadly accident was reported on County Road 140 near Elrod Road that afternoon at around 3 p.m. Local reports revealed that a local man was riding an ATV when he was hit by a 2009 Ford Escape. 

Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to render the necessary aid. The rider of the ATV, 60-year-old Richard L. Hudson of Elrod, suffered fatal injuries in the accident. The area was temporarily closed while emergency responders were present. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials, and more updates will be provided as it continues.
