Elkmont, AL – Pedestrian Dies in Two-Car Crash at AL-99 & Sugar Way

Elkmont, AL (March 15, 2024) – A vehicle collision in the Elkmont area on Thursday night, March 14, left one person dead. The fatal accident occurred in Limestone County on AL-99 near Sugar Way that evening at around 7:49 p.m. The crash reportedly involved two vehicles and a pedestrian. 

Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene, and all lanes on the highway were temporarily closed. A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased victim was later identified as 39-year-old Amber Lynn Lankster of Athens. The area was later reopened roughly two hours later. No further updates on the deadly crash are currently available. Local authorities are handling the ongoing accident investigation.
