Conecuh Co, AL (December 30, 2025) – Authorities have released updated details following a deadly two-vehicle crash that occurred on Monday, December 29, in Conecuh Co. The collision claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman and left another driver injured. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
According to ALEA, the wreck happened around 5:10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, along US 84 near the 112 mile marker, roughly 15 miles east of Evergreen. Investigators said a 2014 Nissan Rogue and a 2015 Ford Explorer were involved in a head-on collision. The Nissan was driven by Monica J. Phillips of Evergreen.
Authorities reported that the Ford Explorer struck a tree that was located in the roadway moments before the crash. After hitting the tree, the Ford collided head-on with Phillips’ vehicle. Emergency crews responded to the scene and found severe damage to both vehicles.
Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision. The driver of the Ford Explorer, identified as a 21-year-old woman from Daphne, suffered injuries and was transported to Andalusia Health for medical treatment. Officials have not released details about her current condition.
