Mobile, AL (August 15, 2025) – A car chase on Thursday evening, August 14, in Midtown Mobile ended in a crash that left one person dead and another hospitalized. The incident began when deputies attempted to stop 43-year-old Joel Fuller, who was wanted on multiple domestic violence charges.
Authorities say Fuller had been sending threatening messages to the victim for several weeks. Deputies spotted him in a driveway off Old Shell Road, but he fled, driving erratically through neighborhoods. The chase ended at Airport Boulevard and Florida Street, where Fuller ran a red light and collided with a Jeep Cherokee.
Both drivers required transportation to a local hospital. Fuller later died from his injuries. The Jeep driver sustained broken bones but is now in stable condition.
