Baldwin Co, AL (April 14, 2025) – A fatal crash occurred on Sunday night, April 12, in Baldwin County, claiming the lives of two teenagers. The collision took place at approximately 9:00 p.m. on County Roa 65, just south of Airport Road in the Foley area, according to a statement released by the Foley Police Dept.
Authorities report that a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck struck an electric scooter carrying two teens who were traveling northbound on the same roadway. The driver of the pickup, who was also heading northbound, reportedly attempted to avoid the collision but lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road and came to rest in a wooded area.
The victims were identified as Brandon Alexis Esquivel Palencia, 19, of New York, and Cesar Ariel Villatoro Chavez, 18, of Foley. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. Emergency medical services arrived promptly, and paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but both teens succumbed to their injuries. Fire personnel assisted in securing the crash site and helped extract the damaged scooter from the roadway.
