Ethelsville, AL – Injuries in Deadly Pileup Crash on US-82

Ethelsville, AL (March 31, 2024) – One person was killed and several others were injured after a multi-vehicle accident in the Ethelsville area on Thursday, March 28. The deadly accident was reported on US-82 near mile marker 13 late that night at around 8:45 p.m. Local reports revealed that two vehicles collided at the scene, leaving one of the drivers with fatal injuries. 

It was later revealed that 78-year-old Otha D. Rockett of Columbus, MS, suffered fatal injuries in the impact. A passenger in the car, 71-year-old Emma L. Rockett, was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS, for treatment of sustained injuries. The occupants of the other vehicle, 65-year-old Larry E. Davison and 22-year-old Jacob H. Davidson, both of Reform, were also hurt and transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. No further updates on the accident are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
