Pinson, AL (March 13, 2025) – A deadly fire claimed the life of 51-year-old Kelli Whisonant Roper on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred in her townhome on Heritage Pl. According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, firefighters from Center Point Fire and Rescue responded to the blaze around 3:00 p.m. Upon arrival, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from the residence.

Battalion Chief Chris Horn stated that firefighters began battling the flames and conducted a primary search of the home. During the search, they located the victim and immediately pulled her from the building. Emergency medical personnel began treating her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:36 p.m.
