Covington Co, AL (July 14, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle crash on Sunday, July 13, left one woman dead and seven people injured.
The collision happened around 12:50 p.m. on AL-55 near the 42-mile marker, about four miles northwest of Red Level.
According to Alabama Law Enforcement, 75-year-old Dessie S. Medley from Speedwell, TN, was killed in the wreck. Medley was riding in a Honda CRV when a Mercedes-Benz GLC300 hit the vehicle. The Mercedes was driven by 39-year-old Joseph R. O’Bryant from Moundville.
Medley was pronounced dead at the crash site. The Honda’s driver, 53-year-old Dana K. Rose, and two passengers, 23-year-old Riley S. Collett and an 18-year-old, were all injured. They were transported to Andalusia Health for medical treatment.
The Mercedes driver, O’Bryant, was also hurt. His passenger, 42-year-old Lindsay A. O’Bryant, was injured too. Both were taken to Andalusia Health. Two teens, aged 13 and 16, who were passengers in the Mercedes, also suffered injuries. They were sent to a nearby hospital for care.
