Montgomery Co, AL (October 19, 2024) – A fatal tractor-trailer crash occurred on October 16 on U.S. Highway 231, resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to another. According to ALEA, the crash involved a head-on collision between a 2001 Freightliner tractor-trailer, driven by Idrissa Sidibe, 61, from New York City, and a 2013 International tractor-trailer operated by 28-year-old Wesley C. Jenkins from Mannford, Oklahoma. Following the impact, both vehicles erupted in flames and were completely engulfed.
Emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene, where Sidibe was pronounced dead. Jenkins was transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
