Risks and Consequences of Pedestrian Crashes
Pedestrian crashes often lead to severe outcomes because people on foot have little protection against moving vehicles. Even at moderate speeds, a crash can result in life-threatening injuries. These incidents frequently occur along busy roadways where vehicles and foot traffic mix.
People struck by vehicles may suffer head injuries, broken bones, internal damage, or other trauma. Some injuries cause immediate symptoms, while others may worsen over time. In many cases, emergency treatment is needed, followed by ongoing medical care.
Fatal pedestrian crashes also leave families facing unexpected challenges. Funeral costs, medical bills, and unanswered questions may arise. Records from hospitals, responders, and investigators often become important as families seek clarity about what happened.
