Witness Ernest Williams, a local barber and former military search and rescue specialist, said he and his coworkers rushed to help after hearing the crash. They managed to rescue the driver and lift the vehicle to reach the trapped child. Despite their efforts, the child could not be saved. Williams said the experience left him deeply shaken, emphasizing how one careless decision can lead to devastating consequences.
Police confirmed that no other major injuries were reported among the occupants of either vehicle. The Mobile Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the child who lost their life in this heartbreaking accident.
