Truck Accidents in Montgomery
Fatal truck accidents like the recent crash in Montgomery show how quickly lives can change. These crashes often involve large trucks like Freightliners, which weigh thousands of pounds. When they collide with smaller vehicles, the outcome can be devastating.
Alabama reports many fatal truck accidents each year, especially on highways such as I-85. High speeds and heavy traffic make highways a common location for deadly crashes. Many truck drivers travel long distances and may suffer from fatigue or distractions. These risks can lead to tragic mistakes on the road.
In many cases, crashes happen when drivers fail to maintain safe following distances or react too slowly to traffic. A moment of inattention or misjudgment often leads to rear-end collisions, which can cause serious injuries or deaths. Truck drivers are expected to follow strict safety rules, but accidents still happen when rules are ignored or mistakes are made.
Victims of truck crashes or their families may be eligible to file personal injury or wrongful death claims. These claims can help recover compensation for medical bills, funeral costs, lost wages, and other expenses. Families may also recover damages for emotional suffering caused by the sudden loss of a loved one.
Truck accident claims can be complicated. Many involve multiple parties, such as trucking companies or insurance carriers. Experienced personal injury lawyers can help families understand their rights and options. A lawyer can also conduct a thorough investigation to determine fault and gather evidence like crash reports, witness statements, and truck maintenance records.
