Elmore Co, AL (January 26, 2025) – A fatal car crash occurred on Friday evening in Elmore County, resulting in the tragic death of a woman. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) reported that the incident happened at approximately 7:36 p.m. at the intersection of Fern Road and Ceasarville Road near Wetumpka.

According to ALEA, 24-year-old Dawnielle A. Rhodes was driving a 2010 Nissan Altima when her car was hit by a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck driven by 20-year-old Elijah B. Arant. Rhodeswas pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in her vehicle, 24-year-old Skylar P. Bearden, was injured and transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, Elijah B. Arant, was also taken to Baptist Medical Center South with injuries. A 17-year-old passenger in his truck was transported to a local hospital for further care.

Responding authorities quickly arrived at the scene and controlled traffic while the investigation was underway. Firefighters assisted with the extraction of the vehicles involved. Emergency medical teams rushed the injured individuals to nearby hospitals, while ALEA continued to investigate the cause of the crash.
