Heflin, AL (June 29, 2024) – On Friday, June 29, a local man was killed after a crash involving a semi-truck in the Heflin area. The incident was reported on US-431 early that morning around 8:34 a.m. It was revealed that one person died, and another was injured as a result of the collision. 

Local reports indicated that 63-year-old Bryan D. Collins of Heflin was driving a Ford Ranger pickup truck when he collided with a Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by 65-year-old Terry H. Ray of Cusseta. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Collins sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Ray was transported to Regional Medical Center in Anniston for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information has been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
